This site connects my academic, political, and personal worlds. I offer more argument than data. For now, the Internet lets us bypass mainstream gatekeepers to communicate critical views and organize politically. It expands our interactions beyond the few who read academic or political journals. And it allows us to distribute information quickly.
It has been a really long time since i have posted a blog. And, guess what, not so much has changed in the world. The West is still stuck, Russia is stuck, China is stuck, EU is stuck, Israel is obviously stuck, and my parents divorced.

Why do I, a 68 year old American Jewish person, get so upset and sad about what is happening in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza? For the last nearly 40 years, my analysis of the actions of the Israeli government vis-a-vis the Palestinians has been that they are very often irreconcilable with and inconsistent with the morals, values, laws, principles and teachings of Judaism that I hold most dear. I also believe the key to peace in this conflict is the pursuit of justice by the Israeli government.
